Take a Journey from a Generation Lost Generation to a Life of Great Discoveries
He is a Vietnam Veteran who has been living in Alaska for the last 47 years. Now at 84 years old and a retired US Marine, he is sharing the memoirs of his journey in this book. He was born in a small town of Asco, West Virginia to a coal mining family. The Bishop family was poor and went through the rations of World War II. However, the grace of life’s struggle was the kind of life where good characters were molded.
Having no money after graduating from high school, he decided to join the US Marine Corps. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Then after 20 years, he retired from military service.
As the passion to serve the country called him, he dedicated his retirement years to helping build the American Legion to further assist the veterans in Kodiak, Alaska. He continued to work for the veterans in another 27 years and went all the way to serve at the national level. This level of dedication led him to become a Presidential Appointee as a Special Liaison to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in Washington D.C.
